Vineyard and Vintage Notes:
Les Cras is a very small 1er Cru parcel - the only one on the north side of Meusault. It's exposition to the east combined with it's elevation, slope and high concentration of stones, makes it a very special location. The hot 2005 vintage ripened these grapes exceptionally well, providing for some of our most mature fruit. The heat that is generated off of the stones adds to the intensity of the fruit in the wine.

Fermentation and Aging :
The grapes were hand picked and transported in a refrigerated truck to the winery. There they were sorted prior to a whole cluster pressing. After settling, the juice was transferred by gravity into our barrels in the cellar for the fermentation. After fermentation, the wine was left sur lies for 12 months, with the malolactic fermentation passing naturally. We gently fined and filtered the wine prior bottling.

Tasting notes:
This is a special wine, combining both old and new world styles. True to form the aromas of flint and minerals prevail, but in addition some elegant tropical fruit notes enhance the bouquet. On the palate, a vibrant and intense concentration of fruit is surrounded by the richness of a Meursault. This is a very unique wine with all the qualities that will help it age for many years.
