Vintage :
After the unusually hot 2003 vintage, the 2004 vintage was a classic Burgundian vintage. The vines produced a low yielding crop with excellent balance and bright flavors. Because of the ideal weather conditions, this Meursault was able to remain on the vine until the end of September when it achieved perfect ripeness.

Winemaking: :
This wine was whole cluster pressed and then settled prior to barreling. The wine was then barrel fermented in 20% new French oak and age sur lies for fifteen months. The malolactic fermentation occurred naturally in our cave, the 2004 wines were very slow in completing this secondary fermentation. The wines was fined and filtered prior to bottling.

Tasting notes:
This Meursault exhibits the traditional nuances that are associated with the soils of this village. Fresh citrus along with the elegance of the minerality combine nicely with the judicious use of oak. Flavors of almonds and vanilla are complimented by a bright acidity and fresh clean citrus notes. This wine will develop nicely over the next five to seven years.
