Vineyard and Vintage Notes:
Our Nuits Saint Georges is a blend of three different parcelsthat are adjacent to one another. The terroir from each site varies, providind for a complex blend of flavors. These low yielding  old vines produce very concenttrated fruit that expresses the depth and elegance of this famous appellation. The warm september sun produced a remarkable 2005 vintage in Nuits Saint Georges, where the fruit ripenened to near perfect maturity.

Fermentation and Aging :
The grapes were handpicked and transported by refrigerated truck to the winery. There we sorted, crushed and destemmed the fruit and transfered the must to tanks by gravity. About 15% of the harvest was not crushed and was put into the fermenter as whole berries. After a six days cold soak we started the fermentation which lasted  three weeks. After pressing the wine was aged in oak - 40% being new barrels for- 14 months. This wine was bottled without any filtration.

Tasting notes:
From a nearly perfect vintage, this Nuits Saint Georges is a great exemple of the uniqueness of the Pinot Noir grown in this village. Rich black currants and cherries are intertwined with earth and oak, making for a complex and well integtrated wine with firm tannins. This wine age for many years to come.
