Vineyard and Vintage Notes:
Situated on the northsise of the village of Puligny Montrachet, Les Reuchaux is located in the heart of the village appellation. From here some of the most prestigous chardonnays in the world are grown. In 2005, we had a perfect ripening prior to the harvest, which allowed the grapes to ripen to the ultimate maturity level without any concern for rot or disease.

Fermentation and Aging :
The grapes were hand picked and transported by a refrigerated truck. At the winery they were sorted prior to a whole cluster pressing. After settling the juice was transferred by gravity into barrels in the cellar for fermentation. Post fermentation, the wine was left sur lies for 11 months, with the malolactic fermentation passing naturally. We gently fined and filtered the wine prior to bottling.

Tasting notes:
What makes this appellation so special is in the way that Puligny Montrachet will develop over time. This wine in its youth can be racey. It has fruit and earthiness that sometimes can be disjointed as it develops. As this wine ages, the elements come gracefully and the body and length distinguish it from all others appellations. This wine has all of the elements of a true Puligny Montrachet and will develop nicely for the next decade.
